D. A. McGee of Texas welcomes you to my family history website, which was named gone2texas.us because both sides of my family ended up in Texas. My family surnames include Allen, Barton, Gardner, Harris, McGee, Noble, and Reed. For my son, Dillon, my former in-laws including the Staton (related to Hatfield and McCoy families), Syndes, and Johnston families are included as well.

I began the quest to find my ancestors in 2001 and most of that research is not available online yet. 2007 the family member information started being added to the Legacy database but ceased after I was involved in a car wreck. The obituaries, census, military records, death certificates, and other records will be scanned and uploaded to this site hopefully in 2009. The Web Log details what I am working on and what is completed. Please contact me if you find any errors or omissions in my research.
